Barcelona Hotels Guide

I can quite definitely say that travel to Barcelona impresses everybody a lot. Besides its architecture and city spirit, the choice of hotels is also impressive.

It may be both fashionable hotels in the historical buildings and hotels in the latest architectural style, with luxurious apartments and up-to-date facilities. The most attractive for me were home-like atmosphere and national colouring.

One of the Barcelona hotels I used to stay at was a pretty 3-star Barcelona Hotel Caledonian. It looks especially elegant at the night by the street light. The hotel is standed in one style inside, and it is pleasure that everything is tasteful and clean. There was a bar, laundry, and garage but unfortunatly there was no restaurant: only light breakfast is served in the lunchroom. I also found everything I need in the room: internet connection, TV, phone, air-conditioning, bath, safe and even hairdrier.

Single rooms are very small, in fact, and I understood it would be better to reserve double room which was really spacious.

The location of the hotel is 10 km (6.2 miles) to the nearest airport, 2 km (1.2 mile) to the nearest station Plaza de Catalunya and 3 min walk to the nearest bus stop. The most pleasant for me became the fact of the hotel location in the centre of Barcelona - just 10 minute walk to Plaza de Catalunya, where I found shopping and fair centre with great discounts in August!

And now some tips which can be usefull for a traveller.
- time of room service is from 7.00 till 10.00 A.M.;
- day is closed at 2.00 P.M.;
- mind the voltage: it’s 220V there. Doesn’t mean much for travelers from Europe, but if you are from America of Japan, be careful with devices you bring together with you.

Hi. My name’s Helen Parker, I am 31. I’ve been a marketer in recent time. And now I post in this blog about one of my favorite cities. Barcelona is the city of corrida – a duel of the man and bull - Toro Bravo.

When I stayed in one of the Barcelona’s hotels, first of all I left my baggage, as I wanted to walk and see this city. It was not my first visit to Spain, but my first time in Barcelona. That is why, maybe, I was so surprised to find Barcelona so “European” city in Spain. I have been to it several times since my first visit, and understood that nothing must break the pleasure of being there, especially hotels.
I will try to make a short brief review of hotels and give some advise which one to choose. I hope it really will help you, as it is better to think about your stay beforehand to enjoy your travel in l.
I will post about hotels of various stars and classes, their location, services and facilities, as it may be important because of some special habits, such as smoking. Not all hotels receive guests with dogs and cats: that is also necessary to know if you like your pet so much that take it everywhere you go. Details like that and many others will be useful to find out which of Barcelona hotels is more convenient.
For example, the lovers of historic places and sights will prefer the Gothic quarter not far from the Cathedral or the old centre of Barcelona near the Catalonia square. Businessmen, in their turn, may prefer the downtown of Barcelona. Dedicated shoppers will probably choose the hotel near the trade fair in the Ensanche district. As to me, I always stay at the hotel in the modernist district, Eixample. It is very convenient for me as the district is modern and there are two tube stations Passeig de Gràcia and Diagonal near it.
