Hello, friends!

The next budget accommodation I would like to describe is Hostal Mare Nostrum in Barcelona. You should pay attention to the fact that Hostal Mare Nostrum Barcelona is a hostal, not a hostel. That is very important to understand the difference between various terms used for accommodation in Barcelona to make the best accommodation choice. I have already written about that in one of my previous posts, but I suppose that it is not out of place to repeat once more that a Barcelona hostal and Barcelona hostel are totally different. A hostal is somewhat similar to a guest house or hotel, while a hostel is actually a youth hostel, the original Spanish name for which is Albergues Juveniles. Barcelona hostals are very similar to ordinary hotels and more or less resemble guest houses. Hostals in Barcelona can usually offer similar and sometimes even better apartments than some hotels within the same price range. Budget travelers should remember that usually Barcelona hostals are cheaper than Barcelona hotels offering similar amenities and services.

Hostal Mare Nostrum in Barcelona has almost everything what any traveler expects from a cheap Barcelona accommodation – comparatively cheap prices, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, friendly and attentive staff and location that could not be more central - right along La Ramblas, close to public transport (bus and underground) and close to most of the popular tourist spots - the Opera House, the market of La Boqueria, the Cathedral, Picasso’s Museum, Gothic Quarter, etc.

I had a very nice double room in Hostal Mare Nostrum Barcelona equipped with, air conditioning, satellite TV and telephone. My room was simple and small, but clean and cosy. My reservation included free buffet breakfast.

So, if you need a conveniently located base for exploring Barcelona and a cheap Barcelona accommodation to sleep than you should consider booking rooms in Hostal Mare Nostrum in Barcelona.

Hello, friends!

Hotel Medium Prisma in Barcelona was highly recommended by a close friend of mine, Julia, who travels to Barcelona very often, so often that she calls Barcelona her second “home-city”. She claimed that this comparatively cheap hotel in Barcelona was ideally located for both business and leisure travelers due to its proximity to one of the most important business centers in the city, local trade fair grounds and the main shopping areas of Barcelona. Hotel Medium Prisma Barcelona welcomes business guests an offers them a wide range of services in their onsite business centre. Those traveling on business will find all necessary facilities such as internet access, fax, etc. to meet their needs. Nearby attractions included Plaza de Espana and Montjuic, Plaza Cataluna and Ramblas and Camp Nou football stadium. Good public transport links make it easy to reach any part of Barcelona to view most popular places of interest.

Julia has stayed in 2-star Hotel Medium Prisma Barcelona several times. She usually books in advance and never has problems with checking in. As she usually travels alone, Julia prefers staying in a single room, which includes standard room facilities such as a bathroom, heating, air conditioning, a telephone, a TV set, a safety deposit box, a hairdryer and a mini-bar. Nice size room is clean, comfortable and functional. It is a good place to have rest after a day in the office or sightseeing in Barcelona.

Buffet breakfast is not included in the room rate and guests have to pay extra EUR 8.50 per person to enjoy filling and fresh breakfast.

Hotel Medium Prisma in Barcelona is a good cheap Barcelona hotel for budget travelers; you won’t be disappointed if you decide to settle there.

Bye for now!

Hello!

I have recently spent seven nights at the budget Barcelona Hotel - B Hotel Barcelona and as I was very pleased with my experience, I would like to share information about this 3-star Barcelona hotel with you. I think that the B-Hotel is a great value. It is built in one of Barcelona’s most lively areas, Plaza Espanya. I usually prefer using public transport to get from the airport to the hotel, but this time I felt extremely tired, so I decided to take a taxi. It was quite easy catch a taxi near the airport and it took me about 20 minutes to get to the B Hotel Barcelona. Taxis in Barcelona are cheaper in comparison to other European cities, I paid 23 €. The B Hotel Barcelona turned out to be a few metres from the Convention Centre and Montjuic. The central part of the city is just a few minutes away by underground and the underground station is right opposite the hotel. The area around the B Hotel was very quiet and felt completely safe walking to the hotel at night after visiting some of my friends. I think it’s a plus point if you are a solo female staying at a hotel.

The B Hotel Barcelona is housed in a very stylish new building. I had already booked a room in the hotel, so I was given a very attractive and very spacious one. And there were very large floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Placa D’Espanya and I must confess that the view was great! The hotel staff was very helpful and did their best to make my trip comfortable and relaxed.

Breakfast was not included and cost EUR 13.91. I tried almost everything they offer as I spent a week there - ham, bacon, tortillas, cheese, croissants, cereals, fruit, cookies, pastries etc. The food was OK.

One more thing I should mention is the small swimming pool on the roof of the B Hotel Barcelona.

The overall impression of the B Hotel Barcelona was very positive and I would definitely stay there again.
