My today’s post will be about Hotel Reding Barcelona, a very nice budget Barcelona hotel. I discovered this pleasant Barcelona hotel during one of my first visits to the city. The firs thing I liked about this hotel was its central location and close to the place of my work. That was the reason why I booked an apartment in this hotel. On my arrival I was pleasantly surprised that in spite of the fact that Hotel Reding Barcelona was located less than five minutes walk from the main street of the city (Gravina, 5-7 Barcelona), it was very-very quiet. I had a room on the first floor at the back of the hotel and still could hear no noise at all.

There were many businessmen in the hall of the hotel, so I think Hotel Reding Barcelona is a convenient accommodation option for business travelers as well. Checking-in was quick, thanks to the woman at the reception desk (I was very tired after a sleepless night on the plane). By the way, all the hotel staff speak excellent English, so you won’t have any language misunderstandings.

The first thing I checked in my room was the bathroom as I was dreaming of taking a shower. The bath, fitted with shower, was spotlessly clean, but quite small. Then I went to bed and I must say that the bed in my room was very comfortable, I had a restful sleep.

Hotel Reding Barcelona is a 3-star hotel, and even though it is quite cheap in comparison to other Barcelona hotels of the same star rating, it was very well equipped: air conditioning, mini bar, radio, TV and a hairdryer in the bathroom.
Buffet breakfast was good but it was not included in the room rate and cost somewhat around EUR 14 per person. There also was a cozy cafe downstairs.

So, if you are looking for a comfortable and not too expensive hotel in the city center, I think Hotel Reding Barcelona is a good choice.

Bye!

Confortel Auditori Barcelona is a 3-star comparatively cheap hotel in Barcelona which was opened a couple of years ago. I know from my own experience that getting a decent, yet cheap or, at least, affordable hotel in Barcelona within walking distance to the city center is quite difficult but I would definitely recommend this one. I booked this hotel after reading some reviews about Confortel Auditori Barcelona, most of which were positive and complimentary. I was not disappointed at all and found Confortel Auditori Barcelona clean and comfortable, equipped with excellent modern ameneties and business facilities.
A young man at the reception desk was very pleasant and check in was very quick and efficient. Checking-in usually takes less time if hotel room is booked in advance. I had requested a room on the higher level and got one on the third floor. My room turned out to be modern and very clean, with good-size bathroom equipped with the usual array of bubble baths, soaps and shampoos. Other in-room facilities included air conditioning, direct dial telephone, electronic safe, Wi-Fi Internet access, satellite TV, hairdryer and heating. Free mini bar was a great idea: 2 cokes, 2 fruit juices, 2 still and 2 fizzy waters and 2 beers; I found it a good place to store extra snacks.

There was no noise at all from other guests, that was very important for my as I am a light sleeper.

As for meal plan, breakfast wasn’t included in the room rate and cost somewhat around EUR 14.00. Basic choice of food was offered, but the service was excellent.

Barcelona Confortel Auditori offers reasonable prices for a city stay; I liked it very much and would definitely recommend it.

Bye!

Hello!

Today I go on with the description of Barcelona hotels, one particular cheap Barcelona hotel, which is going to be reviewed is Aparthotel Atenea Calabria. This is a 3-star hotel in the heart of the Eixample of Barcelona. The first time I stayed there last year and it was mainly an overnight stop while traveling from Ibiza to France rather than a visit to the city. That’s why I had no time to explore the city’s places of interest, which are close to Aparthotel Atenea Barcelona: it was very central to Montjuic, Plaza de Espanya, Camp Nou, and La Rambla. There was one more advantage of this particular hotel over similar Barcelona accommodation options – the metro station, which was only a block and a half away from the hotel. Plus there was an easy access to the main transportation routes, which made it very easy to get around the city (the second stay in this hotel was a little longer than the first one and I was able to get acquainted with the hotel surroundings).

I booked an apartment in advance and got double room for single use, which cost EUR 85, comparatively cheap rate for city center accommodation in Barcelona. My room was rather spacious with all needed facilities. In addition to basic hotel facilities, there was a small kitchen with refrigerator, tea and coffee making facilities (which I did not use during my first stay, but enjoyed during the next one). I had a lounge area within my room. Sound proof windows left no worries about possible outdoor noise and I had a restful night.

As for meal plan in Aparthotel Atenea Calabria, buffet breakfast was included in the room rate. A huge choice of food for any taste was offered: bacon, beans, fried and scrambled eggs, breads, croissants and pastries, but not many cereals or fruit, which I usually prefer for breakfast.

The overall impression of the Aparthotel Atenea Calabria in Barcelona was very positive, that’s why I returned to the hotel.

That’s all for now. Bye!
