I have received a lot of letters with Barcelona hotel reviews recently, but I had no time to publish them as I was very busy studying. I really apologize and now start publishing your letters. Many thanks to all those people who decided to share their Barcelona hotel experiences! Here is a letter from Adam where he reviews budget hotel in Barcelona - Hotel Principal.

“We decided to spend our vacation in Barcelona this year as both my wife and I are keen on Gaudi’s architecture vastly represented in the city. We planned a 10 day vacation in June. We booked a room for two adults and our 15 year old son in Hotel Principal in Barcelona because we have heard and read some good reviews about this budget Barcelona accommodation. We e-mailed requesting a quiet room with a balcony, which we did receive on our arrival. The room was of decent size. There was a TV set, tea & coffee making facilities, nice big bathroom with some toiletries and hairdryer provided. The beds were more than comfortable with fresh bed-linen. Everything including the furniture looked very new and clean, with very pleasant decor. The room was properly air-conditioned, which is very important if you travel in summertime. Room service was excellent.

Breakfast wasn’t included and cost EUR 9.00 per person. It was ordinary and sometimes we opted to have a light snack outside hotel – there were numerous cafes and restaurants nearby Hotel Principal.

Hotel Principal is a hotel in the center of Barcelona, in easy walking distance of the famous Ramblas, a selection of museums and other places of tourist interest. It was also easy to get to Gaudi’s architectural sights by public transport.

Overall we spent a wonderful time in Barcelona and enjoyed our stay in Hotel Principal.”

Here I publish a letter from a traveler to Barcelona. She stayed in Hotel Casa Fuster G.L.  (G.L. means Grand Luxury), a 5-star affordable hotel in Barcelona.“We booked Hotel Casa Fuster Barcelona for two days to stay before our Mediterranean Cruise. The hotel was fantastic! It was located in the prestigious area of Barcelona within walking distance from many of the city’s tourist attractions, such as Gaudi’s architecture, the central square of Barcelona Plaza Cataluna and the famous street Las Ramblas, etc. The hotel was located off a busy road, so it wasn’t too noisy in our hotel room. I like swimming and sunbathing and I was pleasantly surprised by the closeness of Barcelona Hotel Casa Fuster G.L to the beach. The staff at the reception were very welcoming and provided us with a map of the city and explained the route to the local places of interest.

We got a room on the 4-th floor with a little balcony where we spent wonderful time sitting outside and enjoying the street view. There was a lack of free space in our room, but maybe, that was because of the hotel’s architecture (historic building from 1908 known as “Casa Fuster”). The bed was a true double and very comfortable, the pillows were excellent. Our room was properly furnished with a small desk, a flat screen TV, a minibar, safe box.  The closet was large enough and we managed just fine. The bathroom was very nicely done in marble and complete with bidet and his and her toiletries.

Breakfast was very good though the hotel’s breakfast room was too dark.

We liked Hotel Casa Fuster G.L. and highly recommend it.”

Let me continue the letter about Grand Marina Hotel Barcelona.“Our balcony overlooked the harbour and the view was just wonderful! We had a king size bed in our room it was very comfortable, and me and my husband were pleasantly impressed with the “pillow menu” offered by the hotel – just imagine that we could have chosen different pillows to suit us and make our sleep restful.

The prices in the minibar were expensive, but I think that is a usual thing for top-end European hotels. Maybe to compensate the fact and please us, the hotel staff gave us drinks vouchers for two glasses of cava to use in the hotel bar whenever we wanted throughout our stay. That was really nice of them!

Buffet breakfast was not included and costs EUR 24.61 per person. At first , we decided to eat outside to save some money, but then, when we found out that the breakfast buffet was fantastic (the selection of food and drink available was incredible), we ended up eating there almost every day.

There was a lovely pool on the roof of Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL. The pool wasn’t big but the overall impression of this roof-top sun-bathing area was very pleasant. The pool was too small for swimming, but Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel GL was only a ten fifteen minute walk to the beach and we ended up spending a lot of time on the beach.

We had a wonderful time in this budget Barcelona hotel and that birthday turned out to be an unforgettable experience for me and my husband.”
